Lock the Door - Owens Valley - California

One of my favorite images from the Owens Valley area, not too far from Death Valley. I really love finding old stone ruin buildings like this. Was this a home, or a store? Maybe a storage facility of some kind. Back when it was built, the area was bustling. Local silver mines producing, a large smelting operation was located nearby. But mines play out, people move away and the desert slowly reclaims its own.

I’m glad to see someone locked the door before they left….
