I didn’t have an EMF Meter, an EVP, a geophone, Geiger counter or even a flashlight. But somehow I knew, the Dixie Inn was definitely NOT haunted. Case solved, put to rest, RIP.

But even with the lack of Ghosts, it’s a pretty cool place to check out. It’s been abandoned for a long, long time. Not really sure what its actual business was, but now it serves as an abandoned photo opportunity for those so inclined.

Was it a motel of some kind? A bar or cafe? Quien sabe. I just find it way photogenic, as it seems to ooze solitude, loneliness with a forlorn beauty.

Places like this are the main reason I enjoy roadtrippin’ through the Mojave desert.
