Transmission - Mojave Desert - California

Explor Date: April 04 of 2022

Perhaps one of the most exciting things about the Mojave Desert is the unexpected; you just never know what you might find when you venture into its grasp. Sometimes it’s totally unexpected, sometimes it’s something you’re searching for (whether you know it or not).

Just a few weeks prior to my visit, I had heard mention of this art work and was intrigued. And then a couple days before heading out to Twentynine Palms to meet with my road warrior aunt and uncle from the far north, I came across another mention. A little bit of online research and I tracked its location down.

It’s located well off the beaten path, as many good things are. It’s actually on private property, but the owners have created a pathway to a viewing area where I was able to get the beautiful shot above. If you visit, please respect their wishes and do not trespass onto the private property, there is no need to.

The art work is entitled “Transmission.” She is 28-feet-tall and stands as a concrete reminder that “we are all divine, that we are all one.” The owner, Morgan Brown and the artist, Daniel Popper hope she inspires us all to “transmute love, peace, and unity between ourselves, each other, and mother nature.”

It’s a wonderful work of art and the sentiments behind its creation are well met.

I love the Mojave.
