Nevada
Where you now are, I once was. Where I am now, You will be.

East Mojave Desert Petroglyph Safari - Nevada
To borrow a phrase from Stephen King, if you’re one of my “constant readers,” you’re probably aware of my proclivity towards exploration, especially when giant rocks, abandoned cars, dangerous mines, dirt roads, petroglyphs and the Mojave Desert happen to be the carrot.
Eldorado Canyon / Nelson Ghost Town - Nevada
The ghost town of Nelson came to my attention during one of my frequent Google inquiries on “cool places to visit in <fill in the blank>”.
Southern Nevada Mine - Nevada
Gold was first discovered in the area in 1897 and the district reportedly produced some $53 million in gold by 1907. That’s a huge amount. There were hundreds of claims in the area and some 50+ mines in production. Information on the Southern Nevada Mine, however, is scarce to come by.
Wee Thump Joshua Tree Wilderness - Nevada
I think most people associate the tree with the park, but the spikey trees aren’t confined to the famous national park. They can be found in other places as well.
Rhyolite - Nevada
Rhyolite, Nevada is one of my favorite ghost towns, so much so that when I'm even remotely in the area, I'll stop by to visit and take more pictures for my collection.
Coaldale - Nevada
A few miles east of Benton, I crossed over the California/Nevada State Line and gave the truck a little more gas.
