No More Bull - Abandoned Truck Stop - Rt 66 - Arizona
What was once an impressive truck stop and restaurant complex know as Ted’s Bull Pen doesn’t appear to have been open for business for many years. It sits on a large piece of prime property, but something must have happened to have forced it to close the doors. You’d think it would have been a sure bet, being just off the 40 and visible from the freeway.
The Bull Pen Restaurant, while open to everyone, apparently really catered to truckers. Discounts on food and drinks, nicer restrooms and showers, phones and even an exclusive section for truckers only. I image that during its heyday, Ted’s large parking lot was jammed with trucks, probably a nice spot to overnight.
