No Place to Go - Hwy 395 - California

I love traveling on U.S. Route 395 in California. Many folks I’ve said that to have basically replied, “Bleah, that’s such a boring drive! Everything’s dead, there’s nothing to see.” Ah, but if they would only open their eyes. While there may be some small portions of the drive that get a little monotonous, there really is so much to see along the entire stretch. And if you take a little side trip east or west, even more cool stuff to go out and see. Ok, off my soap box.

This abandoned building was once known as the Cabin Bar and Cafe when it was in operation. It was a place you could stop to get a cold drink, a sandwich, and even shoot a game of pool if you so desired. I’m sure it got a lot of local business during its heyday. No idea when it was first built, but I’ve seen a picture from the ‘70s when it was in operation. Looks like there may have been a patio out back and maybe a cabin or two to rent out to folks too tired to continue on their journey.
